J. Tinsley Oden Faculty Fellowship Research Program (JTO Visitors Program)

The J. Tinsley Oden Faculty Fellowship Research Program at the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences (ICES) is made possible by a private endowment. In March 2003, the program was renamed in honor of Professor J. Tinsley Oden, who has managed it since its inception. The name change coincided with the establishment of the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, an interdisciplinary center that enveloped TICAM and broadened its scope to include many new areas in computational engineering and sciences.

The program’s foremost purpose is to bring in outstanding researchers and scholars to collaborate with ICES faculty and students on advanced research in computational and applied mathematics. The program also invites internationally renowned specialists to lecture to faculty and students with the intent of exposing our researchers to new developments and enhancing the stature and visibility of the program.

ICES currently hosts over fifty visitors each year from the US and abroad, with visits ranging in length from two weeks to one year. Since it was formed in 1993, the program has sponsored over 400 international visits, with visitors representing 32 countries and every major continent, including:
