J. Tinsley Oden Faculty Fellowship Research Program

The J. Tinsley Oden Faculty Fellowship Research Program at the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences (ICES) is made possible by an endowment established by an anonymous donor. The program was established in 1993, and in March 2003, and was renamed in honor of Professor J. Tinsley Oden, who has managed it since inception. The name change coincided with the establishment of the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences. The program’s foremost purpose is to bring in outstanding researchers and scholars to the University of Texas to collaborate with ICES faculty, researchers, and students on advanced research in computational engineering, mathematics, and sciences. The program also hosts internationally renowned specialists who present lectures on new developments while enhancing the stature and visibility of the program. ICES annually hosts over fifty visitors from the US and abroad, with visits ranging in length from two weeks to one year. To date, the program has sponsored over 400 international visits, with fellows representing 34 countries and every major continent, including:
